I don't have Live Scope and don't currently have plans on buying one. I am still trying to become proficient at using my SI and DI units to their maximum potential. The guys out there that have spent the hours and money to become proficient enough to catch monster bass in sub 40 degree water or to win big money tournaments deserve their successes.

Tournaments should embrace the technology and make it part of the format or along the way make some tournaments "Live Scope Free", make it a mixed bag. If you want to fish any of the major tournament trails and don't have Livescope, you soon determine you are going for the fun and experience and donating your entry fee to those who compete with Livescope.

If you think it doesn't make a difference, think again. The impact of Livescope will leave a few people behind. Once more people get Livescope and learn how to use it, more people with limited fishing skills will begin to compete at a higher level. This technology may actually make the bottom half of the field more competitive. Now that Lowrance is in the game and HB soon to be, more people will get this technology.

There will be the next yrs when some people don't have it, and the complaints continue, but almost everyone soon will. And it will happen quicker than most think. In crappie tournaments the first year Livescope was available, few had it; the next year, close to half of competitors had it; now almost everyone does.

In the crappie world there was the same type complaining. But once someone got in a boat with someone that knew how to use the technology, they couldn't wait to get it.

To ease the pain, tournament trails might consider two divisions; those with Livescope technology and those without.

I know if crappie tournament fishermen will buy it, bass guys definitely will. A life without God is like an unsharpened pencil, it has no point.
