Grand Junction, Colorado 45 contributions 7 helpful votes. Front Desk people need a LOT of improvement Took a weekend getaway to Steamboat and chose the Quality Inn for it's high ratings. Lets get the good points out of the way first. On the south and east end of town along US but yet minutes away from downtown and the retail strips.

The FREE bus service runs every minutes with a stop in front of the hotel. And if you like to run, walk or bike, there are two paved trails just outside the far doors that will lead you to all of Steamboat. Parking is a bit limited but right by the building. Indoor pool and spa, but all 2nd floor rooms are via stairs -- no elevator. Looks like the hallways were recently redone and brightly lit.

That said, my first, last and middle impressions were marred by a front desk female clerk never saw her name badge who would As we left the desk and were climbing the stairs she was still talking non-stop about random unintelligible things. Also on Sunday morning, when we checked out, it took about 45 seconds on the cordless phone to get her to answer the phone and to come up to the desk.

We were almost forced to wait a few more minutes because she had 5 other things to do around the hotel before us! Finally on Saturday night, there were several kids past 10PM while that front desk person was still on duty running up and down the 2nd floor hallway at 30 second intervals. Woke me out of a sleep. So half-awake, on the kids next "lap" I threw open the door. My wife said I did my best Clint Eastwood impression and said "Don't The Hall I did in 10 seconds what chatterbox couldn't do all night.

Overall, the stay went well, except for the interactions with one front desk staffer who seemed to be there every time we went by the lobby. Keep your soap opera stories to yourself.

This hotel is was very nice and comfortable! There is new carpet in the halls and in the rooms at least on the first floor.

The beds, pillows, towels were all great!! Water pressure was fabulous!! All the employees were all very nice. The bike path is literally right outside of the hotel, which was great for us since we rode our bikes everyday. Due to Covid the breakfast was "smaller than usual", but we still enjoyed what they offered. Our last day there as we were loading up our car a young moose was walking in the parking lot. My husband thought he was possibly heading the the lake right next door, but it turned around once it saw us and casually walked away.
