I did the dinner cruise this last time, and not only was the trip thrilling and wet, the food was fantastic and the people are great as well. Our captain was fun and told information about the area and tried to ensure that everyone got wet. Some of us got more than just wet, we got soaked but knowing this was what we were there for we planned for this. The highlight of the afternoon trip was the dinner up in the Hellgate lodge.

Dinner was served family style with cornbread, biscuits, salad, scalloped potatoes, vegetables, ribs, BBQ chicken and of course unlimited beer, wine, tea and lemonade all topped off with Marion berry cobbler. We took the early tour leaving right about 8am and just over two hours on the river. The boat was not so crowded that we along with our two lifelong friends from Ashland could sit together, talk, and exchange views on the guides commentary which was always informative and interesting spiced up with some real nice down home humor.

Our guide had grown up on the river and knew every twist and turn. The tour goes up the river to start and it just gets more rustic as you go. We saw deer, a bear, some osprey, a bald eagle and tons of squirrels and different waterfowl. These boats have two V8 engines in them and can almost fly, only taking about inches of water beneath them. They are jet boats but in reality are very quiet. Fun and you do get a bit wet but a great time was had by all. Very fair price and very professional.
