The first thing I had to do was scarf two pieces of ply together. The length was supposed to be 12 feet but will end up I always dreaded having to make a scarf joint. This time I had to do it. I did not have an electric plane so I used a piece of 2x4 and 40grit sandpaper.

It took hours. I finally got that task completed and glued the pieces. It is a scarf joint. Below are the two side panels glueing up. I sanded those scarf joints. And a side view: The two long panels are glueing up right now. Shhhhhhhhhhh be real quiet. They are compound cuts on two of the sides. I can use the two bow pieces as patterns to draw the bow cut on the new panel sections.

Now the project is back on track. Rod I was thinking about building that kind of design but the Russian river where I live is VERY shallow and a flat bottom is what will work the best.
