Actions work appropriately when cycled by hand, with exception given to set trigger on A, which needs attention, and bores that are smooth and clean. Accessories are very good with some age related staining the bullet mold and mainspring vise, ramrod is excellent with a few light storage marks, wrench also with a few minor marks.

Flask is excellent, with a few minor marks and some loss of fire blue at top edges. Case is excellent, with some marks from handling and storage and some buildup on edges.

Lining is excellent, trade label is excellent with a little foxing and two impressions from contact with drums, one rubbed through the label.

German silver blade front sight with notched rear sight. Full plain maple stock done in architecture similar to Armstrong with Armstrong style brass hardware including a 4 petal daisy finial with pinwheel sideplates and Armstrong style engraved lid and toeplate.

Rear raised dimple style tailpipe typically used by Armstrong with faceted ramrod pipes also typical of Armstrong rifles. Comes with hardwood ramrod. DLM 4, - 8, Percussion lock with double set triggers. Sideplates engraved with snakes and patchbox has 4 piercings. Stock has floral vine type incised carving behind cheek, in front of double finger loop trigger guard and at the start of the moulding line on each side of the forestock. This carving is known as a trait of the Reynolds family. Gun has 15 silver inlays. Brass and silver has been cleaned long ago and has faded to a pleasing patina. Wood has traces of original finish with repair along left forestock with burnout around lock.

A nice light Bedford with elegant Bedford County architecture. This rifle was purchased by consignor at an Estate Sale in Ohio and has never been pictured or offered publicly for sale since. This is a normal occurence with usage. Wood has nice original dark finish remaining with some small chips out of pin areas and a small crack near top of lock backplate. Brass has original golden patina with coin silver showing a dark original patina. Dark shootable bore with good mechanics. A classic Rare Dated Bedford rifle by one of the great Bedford makers in excellent original condition.

Gun has in-the-white finished three groove rifled barrel with iron front band with blade front sight and under-barrel lug for bayonet attachment. Rifling is visible with some pitting. Rear sight is a replacement from what looks to be a period U.

Good sharp proofs with some vise marks at the rear. Lock has correct markings with fading aged patina finish. Iron furniture has some pitting with a little cold blue added in some spots. Good mechanics. Nice example of a Confederate secondary weapon. Engraving extends to barrel assembly, rammer lug, frame, recoil shields, trigger guard, butt, and backstrap. Engraving is largely crisp, with some pitting to hammer from percussion cap use. Grips are very good, worn smooth from use and slightly undersized. Case is good with crack in lid, and partitions loose. Blue lining is very good with extensive pressure marks and discoloration from age. Bag flask has numerous dings and silvering to top of spring, but intact with no seam separation.

Both revolvers have matching numbers on the barrels, frames, trigger guards, backstraps, cylinders, and wedges. Complete with Colt Patent 2-cavity bullet mold and un-marked powder flask.

Revolver is mostly a brown patina overall with traces of silver on trigger guard and backstrap. Cylinder scene is barely visible. Bore shows moderate abrasion with good rifling. Action does not rotate cylinder. Traces of original blue on cylinder with fairly strong roll die coach hold up scene.

Grips are fine showing most original varnish with modest wear. Strong traces of silver on backstrap and trigger guard.

Balance of revolver turning a pleasing patina. Bore is very fine with strong rifling. Action works properly and locks up tight. Case has a couple of cracks in the lid. Blue with case hardened frame and hammer. Fitted with period two-piece carved pearl grips with the Mexican Eagle and Snake motif on right panel. Frame has strong traces of original case colors with balance a pleasing dove grey patina. Excellent non-molested screws. Grips are excellent showing little wear with no chips or scares however, are not original to the gun.

Bore is bright and clean. Action is tight and crisp. Overall an attractive black powder era Colt Single Action chambered in desirable. Made circa and later factory upgraded to a cartridge firing revolver.

JULY JULY 2. Stage coach scene on the cylinder. Matching serial numbers on the barrel, frame, trigger guard, and cylinder. Metal areas have been polished. Case colored hammer and trigger. Brass trigger guard and front strap. Scroll engraving on the barrel, frame, and grip straps. Silver Tiffany style grip. Includes oil finished wood box with green velvet interior and a screw driver and cleaning spoon included.

Grip has some molting and finish wear as well. Bore is frosted with minor pitting. Very good overall riffling. Tight hammer. Cylinder shows some movement when cocked. Ejector lever is loose.

Mechanically operable. Wood has wear, handling marks and scratches. There are multiple cracks on the lid and base. JULY 11 JULY 25 Serials on the butt and cylinder are matching. Round barrel with full rib and half-moon front sight.

Nickel finish looking to have been touched in places.
